Hello, Happy Makers!
I’m Heather Jane, the one woman show behind Sew Happy Jane, and I’m so glad you’re here. You’re probably looking for beautiful yarn for your next project. I know you care about inspired yarn that gives you predictable results because that’s what I love too, and that’s why I became a dyer. You also care about yarn that is responsibly sourced, which is why I spend time seeking out yarn bases from responsible mills who love the animals and the people who work for them.
If you’re like me you want yarn that behaves well and knits up in a specific way. That’s why my dye process starts with the end in mind. My speckled and hand painted yarns are methodically dyed to minimize pooling and flashing, and my tonal yarns are filled with rich, dimensional color in cohesive color palettes that make planning projects easy.
I’m inspired by the world around me: tiny songbirds, majestic mountains, sparkling streams, tide pools, delicious food, delicate blooms, lush gardens, and all things bright and beautiful.
I believe deeply in equity and equality for all human beings. I make donations to organizations that support marginalized people, and believe all humans should be equipped to live their most full and beautiful lives. Some of my favorite organizations are The Loveland Foundation, Meals on Wheels, The Idaho Black History Museum, CLUTCH which supports my local LGBTQ+ teenage population, The Wasmuth Foundation for human rights, and World Central Kitchen.
I hope my yarn inspires you to infuse your own beautiful creations with happy color.
From my imagination to yours,
Heather Jane
