Introducing the Luvina Blanket: 
A Cozy, Creative Journey Through Color

Back in November, while the snow quietly piled up outside a cozy cabin in the woods, my friends and I spent a weekend doing what knitters do best—dreaming up new projects, swatching ideas, and imagining how yarn can bring people together. One idea from that weekend stuck with us: a blanket that could grow, one square at a time, using the beautiful colorways from the Hand Dyed Happy Yarn Club.

We wanted something approachable, soothing to knit, and perfectly suited for busy lives and quiet evenings alike. We wanted a design that would encourage club members to make the most of their monthly skeins—without pressure, just joy. And now, that idea has come to life: The Luvina Blanket by Genevra Lee.

About the Blanket

The Luvina Blanket is a modular knit, meaning it’s made one block at a time. Each square combines one club color with a border yarn of your choosing—giving you a flexible, portable project that builds slowly into something truly special. 

There are two size options: Both options use the DK weight yarn available in the club subscription. The small size (Pictured) uses a single skein of the July-December tonals + a border colorway. The large size will use around 9-10 skeins + a border colorway.

• Small: A sweet lap, crib, or stroller blanket 30” x 36”

• Large: A generous throw perfect for curling up under with a book (or your knitting!) 50” x 64”
  

While the sample version uses only the tonal colorways from the July–December club shipments, you can also knit the large version using your Perfect Pairings. The tonal colors are all planned in advance for a cohesive, seasonal palette—but the hand-painted or speckled skeins that arrive in your mailbox will remain a surprise, just to keep things fun.

Club members will receive a discount on both the pattern and the border yarn. Details will be emailed to you in early July.

We’ll be working on our blankets together over the next several months, sharing progress during our Zoom calls and building community along with our blankets.
