It's finally time to share the photos of this exciting collaboration. Even though it feels like we've been celebrating this project for weeks the fun is just beginning. Now that everyone has seen Fireworks in all of its glory we can really start planning for cast on day July 1st.

Keeping the secret of this beautiful design was really hard! As soon as I saw the way Marie had interpreted the fireworks I knew it was going to be well loved, and I wasn't wrong! This top down yoke style sweater has such lovely, thoughtful details, and what fun to knit a brand new stitch designed by Marie herself. There has been some debate about whether or not to knit the bobbles in the pattern. I'm personally on team bobble. I think that little detail just sets the design off beautifully.

My sample was knit by Holli Samet in the colorway Gather. We chose the size 3 with a 43" bust and about 5-6 inches of ease. I was worried that it might have too much ease, but it turned out to be so comfortable and easy to wear that I don't regret that choice one bit.

Marie has included such beautiful finishing details for this design. I'm particularly fond of the fireworks stitches that pop up again at the elbows and even the side "seam" hip area. I'm really looking forward to knitting this pattern along with everyone else this July, but this time I think I'll knit a short sleeve Non-tweed version to wear in the Spring and Fall. I might even choose to knit a size with a wee bit of negative east for a more trim silhouette. The only trouble...which color will I choose for fireworks #2?

I hope you love knitting this sweater as much as I've loved working on this collaboration. So far 2021 has been one for the record books at Sew Happy Jane Hand Dyed Happy headquarters. I wonder what magic will happen next?

Happy Making!
